Guest Support for WordPress - Documentation

Departments are important part of Guest Support plugin. This is where you setup support agents and email notifications.

  • You can use one department in free version.
  • You can add/edit/delete unlimited departments with Pro Addon.
  • You can assign any registered user as a support agent
  • You can assign one agent per department
  • You can show/hide departments on ticket creation form. However, if you hide, you will have to set a default department for the specific ticket creation form.
  • After creating a new ticket by selecting an specific department, the department's agent and the user will receive email notifications
  • You can add unlimited additional email addresses per department to receive new ticket or reply or both email notifications.

 

How to see list of Departments?

  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. Click on G. SupportDepartments to see list of Departments

How to add new Department (Pro Addon required)?

  1. From the WordPress Admin menu, click on G. Support > Departments

  2. Click on Add New button

  3. Now you should see new department creation form like-

  4. Department Name*: Add your new department name. Department name should be unique.
  5. Support Agent (for this Department)*: Type a registered user's email address you want to add as agent and select the user.
  6. Additional Emails Notifications (each email in new line) - (keep empty to disable): Add additional email addresses where you want to receive email notifications when new tickets created by selecting this department and replies submitted to the ticket.
  7. Additional Emails Notifications Type: You can choose to receive additional email notifications when new ticket or reply or both ticket and reply created.
  8. Now click on Add New Department button to create the department. 

 

How to edit Department?

  1. From the WordPress Admin menu, click on G. Support > Departments

  2. From departments list, hover your mouse on a department you want to edit and click on Edit.

How to delete Department (Pro Addon required)?

  1. From the WordPress Admin menu, click on G. Support > Departments

  2. From departments list, hover your mouse on a department you want to delete and click on Delete.
